LG Hyatt has always been on the lookout for opportunities to hear Allison Hyatt give her fiddle a good old-fashioned country workout, but the perfect solution took shape in early 2017 when he realized that combining Allison's fiddle prowess with his love of singing and strumming out country music would be the foundation for a solid country band.
The search began for other musicians to fill key roles, leading them to bassist Greg Hawkins and drummer Greg Pollard, as well as Stephanie Black who brings her vocal talents to a mix of harmonies and leads. A few jam sessions led to weekly rehearsals, and by the spring of 2017 North Forty was born.
Over the next two years, the band grew a loyal following in the Sacramento and Placer County areas and continued to win over crowds. January 2019 welcomed the additions of powerhouse vocalist Kerina Kinch and nimble lead guitarist Rick Liss, solidifying North Forty's place in the Northern California country scene. Line dance coach Lauren Amrine often accompanies the band, getting even reluctant dancers off the sidelines and out doing the Watermelon Crawl!
North Forty plays about 30 shows per year and now covers over 35 country artists including Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, George Strait, Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris; and is always adding new country radio hits along with classic rock and country favorites.
